Photography has been a long time passion for Aaron Lynton. He grew up in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC, but also lived in Savannah, GA to formally study photography, film and television at Savannah College of Art and Design (B.F.A. 2010). His thesis film, “Those Other Days” was 1 of 3 films nominated for SCAD’s 2010 Best Undergraduate Documentary. After graduation, Aaron decided to relocate to the island of Maui to pursue diving, underwater photography and action-sports. Aaron is an artist and big wave surf photographer, specializing in ocean art, action sports, landscape He loves to play with light and movement, as well as capturing moods and environments that can visually transport the viewer. Aaron is eco-minded and hopes his art will evoke positive awareness of the ocean and the world surrounding us. He is a PADI Dive Master, an F.I.I. Level 1 free-diver, and is EFR/CPR certified. He earned his first FreeSurf Magazine Cover shot in January 2018 as well as has participated in the WSL XXL Big Wave Awards three years in a row (2016-18). In 2018, he was the most nominated photographer, earning 6 separate nominees spanning all three photo categories.
