“Supposedly once you’ve seen one you’ve seen ’em all. You can argue for or against that philosophy when applied to big wave surfing. For example, any time a massive swell is forecasted you can count on countless photographers and videographers pointing their cameras at the peak and documenting the day’s happenings. Give it a couple minutes after something crazy happens, flip through your Instagram or Facebook, and you’re watching the latest “biggest ever” on your cell phone. By the end of the day there will be several, if not dozens of edits with the same action and carnage. The point is, there is so much out there to watch during an XXL storm that it can be hard to differentiate between them all or even find something new.
So here are 4500 photos combined into about 90 different time lapses for a new look at January 15th’s party at Jaws. Sure, it’s a lot of the same waves and wipeouts you’ve already seen, but it’s one helluva cool way to watch it all again.”
